 Developing your Business Network and Networking Skills

No Matter what stage of business you are at, you never outgrow the need to network

• Do you let people know clearly what type of business you are in?
• Can they talk about you and describe accurately that you do and how you can help other people?
• Do you let people know what types of problems you solve in your business, so that they can refer the right types of contacts to you?
• Do you ask for referrals? 
• When you need something in your business (or personally) do you know who to call?
• After a networking event, do you re-connect with any of your new contacts?

The evening is about using your network more effectively, identifying the gaps in your personal network of contacts and making new contacts.

Remember, that there may not be potential clients in the room, but it is a lot broader than that, in fact you do not know who you are talking to and who they are connected to – most people know 250 people – who are connected to 250 people – who are connected to 250 people and so on!

• One referral generates 80% more results than a cold call
• 70% of new business is gained through word of mouth
• One simple contact can bear fruit for many years

Unless you ask you may not get, it is about building up your confidence to talk about what you do and what you are looking for!

Hosted by one of Leitrim Network members, Julie Callaghan, this month’s network event will be a unique experience held at The Old Rectory, the historic 19th century listed period home, in the heart of Leitrim's Lakelands. Overlooking Fenagh Lake and situated on 50 acres of wooded parkland it is the ideal place to relax and unwind.

 October is "Pink" month to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and if anybody is interested in hosting a girlie evening or morning to make the pages with photographs to capture a special moment, with guests giving a small donation towards the charity, it could be a great way to network amongst yourselves and give a little to charity at the same time.

Following up on the successful launch of The Backyard we would like to invite the WIN members to participate in the following:-
 

• The Country store run by Terry Crowe stocking pottery, hand woven, hand knitted accessories, arts and crafts and food preserves are looking for suppliers to supply stock for the shop on sale on return basis.

• The Country Fayre are opening soon a market to be run on Saturdays in an enclosed building and courtyard setting with stall such as organic meats, fish, fruit/vegetables, preserves, breads, cakes and are open to other types of stalls to compliment the Country Fayre- Price per table €30 per week.

• The Back Yard is also running a Christmas Arts/crafts Fair on sunday 25th November 12 – 5 pm, anyone interest in taking a table please contact me.  Priuce €45 per table.
